The film hits Korea in 2012, The Thieves, the movie finally officially become Korea's most watched film industry in the history of Hallyu. Film distributor, Showbox Mediaplex, announced today that The Thieves record audience acquisition of 13,020,393 people. Record-breaking film The Host in 2006, which won 13,019,740 viewers.

If The Host reach an audience of that size within 106 days, then the Thieves managed to beat it with a greater amount within 70 days as reported dkpopnews.net. This proves that the film, starring Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun has a chance to beat the record of 13.3 million viewers was achieved by the international film Avatar.

Meanwhile, the film has just been introduced in the Toronto International Film Festival, 7th London Korean Film Festival, 7th Paris Korean Film Festival. The film is scheduled for release in the U.S. and Canada on 12 October.
