Skyscraper buildings that stand upright on the ground is something that is common. However, an unusual idea creativity, comes from Robert Matthew, Johnson-Marshall & Partners (RMJM). In 2007, the skyscraper which stands lopsided Capital Gate was being built.

Capital Gate is the first skyscraper in the world skewed. This building is located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Building 160 meters tall with 35 floors has a slope of 18 degrees, or four times more skewed than the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy. Because of the slope, the building owned by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company's grabbed a certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records in June 2010 as the most lopsided building ever built by man.

In order to make this building stand firm, the engineers plant as many as 490 pieces pile reaches 20-30 meters deep in the ground. The tower was made with two layers, the core of the tower was made of different directions with the inclination and straightness of the building. This tower is the first tower in Abu Dhabi built with diagrid technology.

Diagrid technology is construction design used to build large buildings were supported with steel triangular, so the diagonal effect can be obtained. Now, the buildings built over the past five years the stretcher to be one of the famous landmarks in Abu Dhabi, which is used for offices and five star hotels.
